Or is it Upwards and onwards? Or is it just onwards? It doesn’t really matter, what matters is I can do something about studying and I can achieve the goals that I have!

Education is the key to a better life. They say that the next currency won’t be a monetary one but will be information and those with good education and familiarity with how to use that information will lead the way. Do you want to be one that leads the way? if you do then you’ve got some work to do!

There;s no such thing as a free lunch as the saying goes. You want to make headway with online learning then there’s work to be done!

Working together

‘No one is as smart as all of us’ was a quote I read earlier and I think it sums up what collaborative learning is all about.

When I work on something I usually do OK and get reasonable grades. But when I work with a group then the results are usually that much better. (It’s a fact that most people work better in a group) It’s a thing called Synergy.

Synergy is the idea that the whole is more than the sum of it’s parts. eg a Aeroplane, in reality it’s a collection of nuts, bolts, panels and a few instruments. Of themselves, they can’t fly or do anything much, but put them together properly and you get a passenger plane capable of transporting four hundred people on the holiday of a lifetime! all pieces working together the way they were designed.

At curriculumweb.org that is the principle they work on. the Teaching methods used seek to develop that means of working together to achieve the goal, be it to improve your SAT scores, study for that graduate program you want to get into for the Masters degree.

The Aquarium

Learning takes on all shapes and forms and can be done a number of different ways. This is why teachers and other education professionals should always be on the lookout for new, fun and exciting ways to pique their students’ interests. The worst thing that can ever happen is that a child loses the desire to learn because he or she thinks it is “boring.” Unfortunately, many children lose an interest for learning about science and the environment which means we need to find a way to renew the interest in these two subjects. One of the best ways to do this is by taking children on a field trip to the aquarium.

When you take your class on a trip to the aquarium, your children will be able to explore all of the natural wonders found there. These wonders include all the various species of sea life including the fish, sea turtles, sharks, reefs and corals. They will also learn about the ocean and how precious it, and everything that lives within it. In addition to being able to see the creatures that live in the water, children will learn about how important it is that we work together to keep their natural habitat protected. A trip to the aquarium is a great way to combine science and environmental learning together as well as a number of other things!

To keep the excitement going, there are several ways you can make the field trip even more fun. You can allow the kids to decorate the bus for the trip as well as having a contest for the best kids costumes worn on the day of the field trip to the aquarium. On the way back from the aquarium, you can talk about all the different things that the children saw and learned during the trip. You can also quiz them about what things they can do to help protect the ocean life.

Many students today enjoy working on computers, and teachers and administrators are capitalizing on that for further academic encouragement. This means that if a child is struggling in math, they can go online to Math.com and learn about formulas, solutions, cause and effect, geometry, and even some basic calculus skills, all through game play. In fact, many instructors gear education instruction to be fun, because the theory is, if students are having fun, they do not really understand that they are learning, and it just happens. This is an interesting philosophy because many assume school to be difficult and mundane.

Some of the other resources for education, again involves technology, would include Smart Boards. These boards an updated version of the traditional white board. They allow a teacher and students to wirelessly interact either online, or through power point, to show the class presentations, or new concepts. This has been a large advancement in the classroom because it frees the teacher from being stuck at the front of the classroom, and thus can interact with the students during the lesson, and it has made immense improvements in student progress and productivity.

The other fascinating addition to the classroom is the laptop cart. These carts are portable and wireless, and have ports that can handle up to 15 units charging, with only one chord coming from the cart to pluck in. The most interesting aspect to this advancement is that these computers allow students wireless internet access, and they can transmit, wirelessly, to any printer in the school, at any time. Many students are able to complete assignments, then print and submit the same day. This means that students are not required to high quality technology at home, in order to complete assignments. Thismeans that the web, and internet are accessible to student beginning in the first grade in our current education system.
